Wellpoint Washington Unveils New Resources with the Opening of its Community Wellness Center in Tacoma

Tacoma wellness center opening

On March 7, 2025, Wellpoint team members, local community leaders, U.S. Rep. Emily Randall, Tacoma Deputy Mayor Kiara Daniels, and others gathered to celebrate the opening of Wellpoint’s Tacoma Wellness Center. The new center is located inside the Tacoma Community House, a hub for local residents to access services that improve their lives and health.

“The launch of our Community Wellness Center is a demonstration of our longstanding commitment to being available and accessible as a lifetime trusted health partner that can help build stronger communities and enhance the overall quality of life for those we serve,” said Lisa Bogard, President of Wellpoint Washington. “The outpouring of support from elected officials to our community partners and members illustrates the importance of increasing access to health and other services in a way that improves access and health outcomes.”

At the event, Wellpoint Washington was presented with a proclamation recognizing the opening of the wellness center and the work it will do to support Tacoma families. In addition, Wellpoint provided $2,000 each to five local community-based organizations that share the mission of improving health and wellness in the region.

Wellpoint’s Community Wellness Center will serve as a one-stop-shop for a wide range of information and resources to address local social drivers of health, providing help with accessing food, housing, transportation and healthcare and social/financial supports in Pierce County.
